ewad is gone. Fired out of the proverbial WIS cannon like Hunter S. Thompson's remains. And, we have a new owner of the Pittsburgh franchise -- bentschnride.

Sumpin Ain't Right

Notice that things have been slightly awry in WIS since late last week? Pittsburgh is posting big wins. High draft picks are signing. My Memphis squad couldn't buy a win. Nerio is on the bench.

You know what I think it is? I think someone...something is pissed off that we shot a missile into space. Launched a fucking missile into the cosmos.

It has to be. I mean, how else can you explain Pittsburgh posting 32 runs in consecutive games? They've gone entire MONTHS without scoring 32 runs. But, against Colorado, they win 14-9 and 18-15.

And Nerio...what about Nerio? Suddenly he's gone from Mark McGwire to Dan McGwire. He was firing baseballs out of stadiums like a potato gun and all of a sudden he's got a boo boo?

No, I don't buy it.

You just don't fire missiles into space. Now, we're all paying for it. Watch for the locusts.

Nerio Watch

I thought I'd take a break from watching Tennessee-Memphis to post this Nerio Watch.

Nerio has come back from vacation, stringing together six consecutive games with a hit prior to an 0-4 turn in the PM cycle.

Nerio has two dingers in the past four games, pushing his major league lead to 44. I never thought I'd say this, but Nerio has a couple of guys nipping at his heels, led by Timo Phillips.

He has 44 home runs in 318 at bats, giving him one every 7.23 at bats. At this current pace, he could hit 82-84 home runs in 600 at bats.

Draft Picks Begin to sign

Seven of the Top 10 picks from the amateur draft have been locked up, however  two of the first three remain.

Kareem Duckworth put pen to paper on a deal that pays him a $3,910,000 bonus. The No.2 overall pick by Philadelphia, Duckworth took an assignment to AA.

The number four selection, Harpo Dunn, inked a $3,720,000 bonus from Minnesota and accepted an assignment to HiA. Dunn was the second shortstop taken in the draft. The first, Garland Nathan, remains at odds with Santa Fe.

Danny Weston, Portland's pick at Number 5, signed a $3,630,000 deal.

Word out of Monterrey (and you'll excuse me if I get it wrong...my Spanish is a little rusty) is that Trent Milligan and team officials are "millions" apart on a deal that will bring him to camp.

Pittsburgh Support Ticket

This was the ticket I filed with support in an effort to have ewad removed and to back up mark3313.

I have an issue with owner ewad623 in this world. This owner has been delinquent in his owner responsibilities and has negatively affected the competitive balance in the league. He refuses to assign players acquired during trades or negotiate with his draft picks. He is damaging the pitchers on his staff by not setting pitch limits or rest settings. And, he's just, overall, killing this league.

I'm writing in support of our commisioner mark3313 to have this owner removed from our league.
